LOS CABALLOS FUSCOS

Traditions

Los Caballos Fuscos are a cultural tradition preserved for more than a hundred years by residents of the Los Quemados neighborhood. The group has collaborated, participates and exchanged experiences with various groups, public bodies and cultural institutions of an insular and regional nature, representing the town of Fuencaliente and the Island of La Palma on Canary Islands Day, in Tenerife, Fuerteventura and Gran Canaria, participating on several occasions in television programs and collaborating with Los Caballos Fufos in the Municipality of Tazacorte for its 100th Anniversary.

Fuscos Horses Ethnographic Cultural Association

The association’s mission is to promote and disseminate the cultural and historical activity of the Fuscos Horses, as part of the cultural and ethnographic heritage of the Los Quemados neighborhood, the research and preservation of Los Caballos Fuscos, as a manifestation of culture popular and traditional linked to Los Quemados de Fuencaliente de La Palma, and the promotion of collaboration, participation and generational change by neighbors in the development of this cultural tradition.
