San Antonio Volcano Visitor Center

This center offers you information about the geological origins of a volcanic island such as La Palma. In some exhibition halls , you will learn about the importance of volcanic eruptions worldwide, their risks for citizens and also the benefits that they bring, as in the case of the eruption of the Teneguía volcano, in Fuencaliente. His unpublished images will take you to the memory of those who lived that eruption on the site and that thanks to this volcano, one of the best wines in the world is grown here, such as Malvasía’s wine. Besides, they will be able to fly over the village thanks to a large 3D screen and know what the Sun is like, which is transmitted from the solar telescope (TESS) that is available outside the visitor center. It also offers an audiovisual room and a cafeteria with great views of the sea.

Outside, it has two trails; one to the astronomical viewpoint to observe the solstices and the stars, and another path along the edge of the San Antonio Volcano with easy access with the possibility of using the “jöelette” chair for those who need it. The tour around the edge of the volcano lasts about 30 minutes round trip to a viewpoint a beautiful view of the south and west slopes of the island, where you can see a great landscape contrast between volcanoes, vineyards and the sea, which amazes us just to see it.
